The photo you see below is the daughter of one of our firefighters. Her name is Mihlie Sourjohn. Late afternoon on March 31, N.R.H.F.D. units responded to a call for a 6 year old with trauma to the head. When the tones went off we recognized the address. It was the home of NRH Firefighter Micah Sourjohn. Firefighters typically don't call 911. When a firefighter calls 911 something has gone terribly wrong. We arrived to find Mihlie with severe trauma to the head after being hit by a basketball goal pole that had fell while she attempted to climb it. Mihlie was taken to Cook Children's and was placed in ICU and has had to undergo surgery to remove bleeding in her brain. Doctors are now working on a plan for reconstruction of her skull. The North Richland Hills Firefighters Association and a group of firefighter wives have teamed up with Big Dog Shirt Shack and created a Hope for Mihlie T-shirt with a portion of the proceeds going to help pay for Mihlie's medical bills. If you would like to help the Sourjohn family please click the link below and purchase a T-shirt. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.
